The Thames Swim Against Sewage follows 8 world-class swimmers as they attempt a three-day non-stop relay from the source of the River Thames to London, spotlighting the country's sewage crisis.
The swimmers were forced out of the water multiple times after real-time testing revealed dangerously high pollution levels at several points on the river.
The challenge was organised by Surfers Against Sewage, and highlights the joy of wild swimming and power of communities, alongside the true state of the UK's blue spaces and the very real health risks thousands face each year.
The adventure ends at Westminster with a powerful message: we’re sick of getting sick. It’s time for change.
Filmed by Simon Eaves and Duncan Nicholls.
