Duncan's goal is to create with brands and initiatives that are planet forward and 1.5 degree aligned. Executing those projects in ways that are as sustainable as possible.
He has been a member of 1% for the Planet since 2020, donating 1% of annual sales to environmental non-profits. In that time, he has supported environmental partners such as Surfers Against Sewage, Solar Aid, Protect Our Winters, Spitalfields City Farm , The Thin Green Line Foundation and Dirt Foundation for the regeneration of the Earth.
In October 2024 he gained his certification in Business Sustainability Management from the University of Cambridge, obtaining the highest possible grade. He is also an early stage investor in Ecologi, certified Carbon Literate and supporter of One Tree Planted.
For the majority of his 17 year career so far, Duncan was focused on the positive power wellness, sport and movement has one our physical and mental health, and created campaigns aligned with that impact. The positive influence of this stands true, and it's an integral part of his own life.
However, as he has become increasingly more knowledgable and aware of the challenges humanity faces around climate (and most importantly the thriving future that is possible for us all) and the necessary actions required - this has reshaped the impact he know wants to have and who he now wants to create with.
As a Dad myself, the beautiful Poem Tomorrows Child, is the perfect summation of what has driven me to make this change:
Tomorrow’s Child
Without a name; an unseen face
and knowing not your time nor place,
Tomorrow’s Child, though yet unborn
I met you first last Tuesday morn.
A wise friend introduced us two,
and through his shining point of view
I saw a day that you would see;
a day for you, but not for me.
Knowing you has changed my thinking
for I never had an inkling
That perhaps the things I do
might someday, somehow, threaten you.
Tomorrow’s Child, my daughter/son
I’m afraid I’ve just begun
To think of you and of your good,
though always having known I should.
Begin I will to weigh the cost
of what I squander; what is lost
If ever I forget that you
will someday come to live here too.
